The present situation due to pandemic corona virus (COVID_19) threatens the farming community particularly children and elders because of poor immunity.The small and marginal families lose their livelihoods and they are in isolation due to curfew and other containment measures. They lost their income and in need of food and basic health care needs. The present crisis is affecting the education of their children in particular and health, care of aged persons in general. Resulting this in poverty, distress migration, and farmer suicides is creating new social crises with increased burden on the women. Support for livelihood activities such as sheep rearing, goat rearing and other agriculture based livelihood activities 2.Providing agriculture seeds and fertilizers and dry land horticulture plants for one acre to small and marginal farmers. 3.To create awareness about Covid-19 as per theMinistry of Health, GOI.Activities:

  • Organize village level counseling and awareness on the real facts about Covid-19, preventive measures and the new normal in future
  • Provide support for the purchase of inputs for agriculture activities like seeds, fertilisers and pesticides.
  • Support the needy and migrant families to adopt rearing of small ruminants- sheep and goat rearing, other income generation activities.
  • Handhold the farmers to access the facilities/inputs available in the line departments/KVKs
  • Support the interested farmers to adopt tree based farming system- Plantation of forestry and horticulture in one acre
Support the vulnerable farmers to face the Covid-19 situation and safeguard lives and livelihoods of 300 families.
