Good quality education especially being e-literate, is the foundation of new discoveries, new knowledge, innovation and entrepreneurship that trigger growth and prosperity of the individual as well as that of a nation. For this, we need to make our curriculum and pedagogy relevant to the needs of our society and nurture qualities of problem solving and creative thinking, and confident self-expression from a young age. Children residing in shelter homes or from low-income communities are deprived of suvh opportunities hence to provide them a platform with quality e-literacy focused education, Bhumi's Computer Science Project target children of grades 9 and 11 to deliver the content. The project implements activity based practical learning for all modules. Hence hands-on experience with systems progresses the children to grasp the content better. It creates more impact when delivered with practical knowledge rather than just theoretical for which systems come into use. The systems are used hands on practical knowledge gained from the sessions and also to learn basics of internet and practice programming language using Google Blockly and other platforms which represents coding concepts. •Over 5,786 children have benefitted from the programme since 2007 and the project is currently present in Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Kolkata, Tiruchirappalli and we continue to impact <1,000 children each year.
